1. What is the purpose of the Forum?

This interactive Forum is built as a resource portal for network, systems administrators and security professionals responsible for maintaining security infrastructure, applications and operating systems for their organizations or clients. Subscribers gather to exchange ideas, post questions, offer suggestions, share resources, conduct research and learn from their peers and subject-matter experts how to effectively manage and secure network endpoints.

Our subscriber-driven mailing list and resources are free to all who join. As a subscriber, you can submit security-related articles, links, events and training programs. Most importantly, you will have an opportunity to engage and interact with your peers, moderators and subject-matter experts on all aspects of endpoint security.

2. What’s in it for members?

Whether you are new to this emerging field or you are already a subject-matter expert, this list will provide you with a dedicated forum to learn about endpoint security from your peers, share concerns, likes and dislikes, discuss policy and regulation, post questions, research products, ask questions, and share opinions and resources. The Forum is moderated by subject-matter experts from industry peers, analysts, publishers, selected vendors and consultants to provide you with a variety of insights and to prevent inappropriate behavior and interactions.

4. How do I unsubscribe from the Forum?

From the email address you used to join the Forum, send an email to leave-endpoint_security@endpointsecurity.org. The content of the message is irrelevant. Once your email is received, you will be removed from the Forum. If your email address has changed, request that you be manually removed from the Forum from eps_host@endforce.com.

5. How do I send e-mail to other members/moderators?

Send a message to join-endpoint_security@endpoinsecurity.org. Once your email is recieved, you will be sent a confirmation email.

6. How do I send a message to the list?

To send a message to the list, send your email to endpoint_security@endpointsecurity.org. You must be a member in order to post to the list.

7. How do I contact the owner of the list?

Send a message to eps_host@endforce.com.

8. How do I disable mail delivery?

Send an email to disablemail@endpointsecurity.org. To resume receiving mail, send an email to resumemail@endpointsecurity.org.

9. Am I allowed to include attachments to an email in my list?

No. Please keep your e-mails text based. If you would like to refer people to a document, host the document on a web server and include a link to the document in your email.

10. What is acceptable subject-matter?

Acceptable subject-matter includes any and all discussions related to endpoint security to include research, analysis, security policy, regulations, network infrastructure, personal firewall and antivirus applications, and operating system patching.

11. What is unacceptable subject-matter?

Vendor or member companies advertising their products or services or using this list for prospecting and lead generation purposes. Discussions not related to endpoint security, network infrastructure, security applications, or O.S. patching issues or concerns.

12. Who hosts www.EndpointSecurity.org?

The domain, web servers and list server is hosted by ENDFORCE, Inc. www.endforce.com.

13. Can vendors participate?

Vendor participation in this Forum is welcomed. It is a requirement of this list that you identify yourself as a vendor participant on all communications. A vendor is someone who could or would make money from marketing, promoting or selling products or services discussed on this list. This would include hardware, software, testing, research or consulting services participating in this specific space.

Vendors and employees and or consultants for vendors must abide by the rules related to appropriate and inappropriate communications and behavior while you participate in this Forum. Any reports from Forum members regarding inappropriate behavior will result in Forum privileges being terminated.

14. Am I allowed to provide Forum feedback & recommendations?

This Forum is an endpoint security specific resource for network, systems administrators and security professionals who are responsible for maintaining the security infrastructure, security applications and operating systems for their organizations or clients. As a Forum member, you are welcome to make comments, suggest ideas to improve this Forum and monitor and report misuse of your Forum.

15. How do I disable mail delivery temporarily?

Send an email to disablemail@endpointsecurity.org. To resume receiving mail, send an email to resumemail@endpointsecurity.org.

16. How can I receive a daily email with all of the day's messages for the list?

To receive a single email message containing all of the messages contributed to the list that day, send an email to digest-endpoint_security@endpointsecurity.org.  The digest will include a list of the day's topics, followed by the complete messages.  If you'd like to request a MIME digest, send an email to mimedigest-endpoint_security@endpointsecurity.org.  To receive only a single email containing all of the subject lines of all of the messages contributed to the list that day, send an email to index-endpoint_security@endpointsecurity.org.  The message will instruct you how to retrieve the messages that interest you most.
